Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, attentive care to all patients
- Perform intake assessments, emergency triage, and ongoing monitoring of hospitalized pets
- Conduct diagnostics including blood work, radiography, cystocentesis, and blood pressure measurement
- Place IV catheters and collect blood samples
- Assist with, prepare for, and monitor surgical procedures
- Safely restrain patients for veterinarians and team members
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and medical staff
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Ensure a clean, organized, and sanitary hospital environment (treatment areas, exam rooms, surgery, lab, radiology, and kennels)
- Feed and provide daily care for hospitalized patients
- Assist with patient discharge, including retrieving pets and belongings
- Support the team with additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Veterinary Technician (emergency experience preferred)
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced emergency setting
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Authorized to work in the United States
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, restrain, and handle animals of varying sizes
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment
