At Beauty by Design, we design and sew custom gowns in-house and complete alterations for wedding dresses. We make dream gowns come true through high class service and exquisite detailed craftsmanship. We are rapidly growing and are currently expanding our team! We are looking for an experienced tailor to join our team. Come grow your skills in a luxurious studio loft with room and flexibility, and be a part of something special!
Responsibilities:
- Complete sewing alterations as marked on wedding dresses and formal wear
- Finish alterations with industrial sewing machine, hand sewing, pressing, and steaming
- Work with clients to address fitting needs
- Keep dresses organized, and keep a tidy workstation
- Clearly communicate with the designer/fitter to ensure accurate completion of alterations
- Uphold high standard of quality
- Manage workload and time efficiently to meet deadlines
Skills/Experience Required:
- 5 years of sewing experience (minimum)
- 3 years in the bridal industry (minimum)
- Industrial sewing machine experience
- Communicate in English
- Ability to work with large and heavy gowns
