Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will champion workplace safety, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and fostering a culture of health and safety excellence. Your expertise will help safeguard our employees, environment, and operations by implementing rigorous safety protocols, conducting inspections, and providing essential training. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive safety inspections throughout manufacturing areas to identify hazards related to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), hazardous materials regulations, and other legal standards.
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety procedures aligned with regulatory/legal compliance standards in production environments.
- Provide first aid and CPR response in emergency situations, ensuring immediate care while coordinating with medical professionals as needed.
- Lead safety training sessions for employees on topics such as hazard recognition, environmental health, occupational health best practices, and emergency response protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of safety incidents, conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues, and prepare clear report writing documentation for management review.
- Ensure compliance with environmental health regulations by managing hazardous materials handling, waste disposal procedures, and environmental compliance reporting.
- Stay current on OSHA regulations, workers' compensation law, and other legal requirements to ensure ongoing adherence across all operational levels.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of safety regulations such as OSHA standards and hazardous materials regulations.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and OSHA 30 safety training is required.
- Knowledge of environmental health practices and occupational health expertise to promote employee well-being.
- Familiarity with workers' compensation law, regulatory/legal compliance standards in production, and environmental compliance protocols.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and develop effective corrective actions.
- Excellent report writing skills for documenting incidents, inspections, and safety audits clearly and accurately.
- Demonstrated commitment to training & development initiatives that enhance employee awareness of safety practices.
