This opportunity is for a Therapist to provide counseling services in an Outpatient Program to individuals of all ages. Establish a written goal-specific treatment plan and serve as a resource. Collaborate and consult with colleagues, community individuals, or agencies to assist in providing the highest quality of services. This position may also provide outpatient group therapy and School Based Counseling services. School Therapists work on site in schools to assess student needs, provide consultation and education to school personnel, and make referrals.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This professional therapist role provides outpatient behavioral health services within the Bedford County Outpatient Program, including school-based counseling and outpatient group therapy. The position supports individuals of all ages by delivering therapeutic services, coordinating care, and ensuring that clients receive appropriate assessments, treatment, and referrals across multiple program areas.

Provide individual, family, couples, and group therapy while developing strengths-based treatment plans within the Electronic Medical Record

Complete Therapy Diagnostic Evaluations under supervisory direction to determine service needs and make medically necessary referrals

Coordinate care with program staff, including Crisis Intervention when needed, to ensure high-quality service delivery

Deliver group, individual, and play therapy to students in school settings and complete school-based assessments, intakes, and referrals

Offer consultation and education to school personnel, community members, and agencies regarding mental health issues and resources

Facilitate outpatient group therapy sessions focusing on self-care, self-management, and recovery while completing required documentation

Participate in meetings, trainings, and community presentations as needed

Perform additional related duties as assigned
Work Schedule and Additional Information:

This position reports to the DBHS Office for work.

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Hours must be adjusted as needed based upon consumer requests for evening appointments.

On occasion, staff may need to work hours outside of the set work week to complete projects, meet work demands, or in the event of an emergency.

New staff will be on probation for 6 months.

New staff may be eligible for a hybrid of on-site and remote work after 3-months of employment.
