American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology position requiring APHON Chemotherapy certification and PALS.

Work in the Children's Jimmy Everest Center Hem/Onc unit of a hospital
-
Pediatric patient population with hematology and oncology diagnoses
-
Day shift schedule, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week (40 hours weekly)

Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC) currently in hand
-
Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and APHON Chemotherapy (all AHA-issued where applicable)

Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required

Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
-
Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
-
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff

Ability to respond to the cultural and language needs of patients and families

Basic computer skills required

Assume responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric oncology patients
-
Document patient responses to nursing interventions and any changes in physician orders
-
Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
-
Monitor physiological data and intervene as needed
-
Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood product transfusions
-
Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
-
Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
-
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered

Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed
-
Extensions limited to one renewal for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying
