ROLE SUMMARY
The Licensed Master Plumber is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining plumbing systems at residential and light commercial properties across the Wake County area. Holding an active NC P1 license, you will serve as the licensed professional on permitted projects, deliver high-quality service to homeowners, and represent the company's standards on every job.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and repair plumbing issues: drains, water heaters, sewer lines, fixtures, water supply systems
- Perform installations — water heaters, tankless units, faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, re-pipes
- Conduct camera inspections and sewer line diagnostics; operate hydro-jetting and snaking equipment
- Pull permits and serve as License of Record (P1) on applicable projects
- Provide accurate, upfront pricing to customers using the company's flat-rate pricing system
- Maintain detailed job documentation: photos, work notes, materials used, and completion records
- Operate and maintain company vehicle and assigned equipment to company standards
- Communicate professionally and clearly with homeowners — explain findings, build trust
- Mentor and support apprentices in the field when applicable
- Follow all NC state plumbing codes, OSHA safety standards, and company SOPs
- Complete jobs on schedule and flag any scope changes or escalations to the supervisor promptly
REQUIREMENTS
- Active NC P1 (Master Plumber) License — this is a hard requirement
- 5+ years of field plumbing experience (residential service strongly preferred)
- Strong diagnostic ability — identify root causes, not just surface-level fixes
- Clean driving record and valid NC driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Physically capable: lifting 50+ lbs, working in crawl spaces, attics, and confined areas
- Dependable, punctual, and able to manage your schedule independently in the field
- Professional communication skills with homeowners and office staff
- Experience with tankless water heater installation and gas line work
- Hydro-jetting and camera/CCTV inspection experience
- Familiarity with ServiceTitan, Jobber, or similar field service software
- Experience working in a structured, process-driven service company
- Comfortable presenting repair/replacement options to homeowners
