Position Overview
We are seeking a professional and experienced Barista with Food Experience to join our team. This unique hybrid position requires a dynamic individual who can expertly prepare coffee and espresso drinks throughout the week, while also confidently handling back-of-house chef responsibilities one day per week. You’ll be expected to uphold the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
As a Barista (4 days/week):
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and espresso drinks according to Jack Jack’s standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house, espresso machines, and prep areas.
- Provide friendly, efficient, and professional service to all guests.
- Assist with daily opening and closing tasks.
- Restock inventory and supplies as needed.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Must have open availability and ability to work weekends.
As a Chef (1 day/week):
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards provided by the Head Chef.
- Manage back-of-house operations during chef shifts.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and preparation procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas.
- Assist with food prep and storage for the week as needed.
Requirements
- Certified Food Manager in New York State (Required).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in both barista and kitchen/culinary roles.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and directions from Head Chef and Head Baristas.
- Positive attitude, team player, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and professional in demeanor.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.50 per hour
