American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Tech (CST) for a cardiovascular OR travel position requiring NBSTSA certification and Epic experience.

CVOR setting within a large academic hospital OR, integrated with the main OR when CVOR cases are not scheduled
-
Cardiovascular surgical patient population requiring expertise in sterile technique and cardiac procedures
-
Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts, 6:45 AM–5:15 PM, with variable days

Cardiac call is required for this position

Floating may be required to an affiliated ambulatory surgery sister site as needed

Epic is used for charting
-
Active OR RN license currently in hand

NBSTSA CST certification required

Current BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of CVOR/surgical tech experience required

Level 1 trauma experience preferred

Epic charting experience required

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program required

Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day, walk up to 8 hours, and lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs

COVID vaccination proof required — no exemptions accepted

Two supervisor or manager references from within the last 24 months required for consideration (Charge RN references are not acceptable)

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe OR environment, applying sterile and aseptic technique, managing instrumentation and equipment, and supporting invasive and diagnostic surgical procedures

Must perform effectively in emergent and code situations as directed

Floating to the affiliated ambulatory site may be required; refusal to float as directed may result in contract cancellation

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction applies

Candidates who were previously employed at or on assignment at this facility must have a reference completed by the OHSU manager who supervised them

Former travelers must have been away from this facility for at least 6 months before returning on a new travel contract

Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and may not exceed 2 weeks
