The Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an experienced Associate Administrator to serve as a senior operational leader within the department providing strategic, financial, and administrative oversight across clinical service lines at Harris Health. This role serves as the primary administrative liaison for the department with hospital leadership and represents the department in key meetings and committees. The Associate Administrator partners with Medical Directors to ensure efficient clinical operations, monitor performance, and implement growth strategies aligned with departmental and hospital priorities.
Additionally, the Associate Administrator acts as an extension of the Department Administrator for assigned divisions, ensures consistent, high-quality administrative operations; strengthens leadership capability within divisions; and drives operational excellence, standardization, and continuous improvement.
This role has significant influence on departmental performance, leadership effectiveness, financial sustainability, and the successful execution of the Department of Medicine’s clinical, research, and educational missions. Establishing an Associate Administrator role is a necessary and strategic investment to support the Department of Medicine’s size, complexity, and growth. The role strengthens leadership capacity, improves consistency and accountability, and allows senior departmental leadership to focus on strategy rather than day-to-day operational escalation. This position is essential to achieving sustainable administrative excellence across the Department’s clinical, research, and educational missions. This role is eligible to participate in an annual performance-based bonus program based on individual and organizational performance.
