Primary Function:
The Receiving Supervisor oversees daily receiving operations across two shifts and two warehouses, leading a team of receiving coordinators while supporting OSP processes, trailer yard activity, storage trailer management, and limited outbound shipping. This role is responsible for implementing, sustaining, and continuously improving standard receiving processes to ensure purchased components are verified, labeled, received, staged, and put away safely, accurately, and efficiently in support of production and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead receiving coordinators across two shifts and two warehouses, promoting a safe, organized, high-accountability work environment focused on service, accuracy, and quality results
- Implement, train, audit, and sustain standard receiving processes, including three-part verification of receipts against the bill of lading, packing slip, and purchased component labeling requirements
- Oversee high-volume inbound activity in a fast-paced environment with more than 30 trailers delivered daily, ensuring material flow is prioritized to support production needs
- Manage receiving dock flow, trailer yard coordination, storage trailer utilization, and switcher priorities using Yard Management Solutions
- Ensure receiving transactions are completed accurately and timely in Oracle to support inventory accuracy, supplier visibility, and production planning
- Support OSP processes by coordinating inbound and outbound material movement, documentation, and communication with internal teams and external partners
- Coordinate limited outbound shipping activity as needed while maintaining focus on receiving priorities, dock safety, and material availability
- Use receiving, yard, inventory, safety, and service metrics to identify gaps, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement
- Lead daily problem solving, escalation, and cross-functional communication with production, purchasing, planning, quality, shipping, and warehouse teams
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, addressing performance, attendance, safety, and process-adherence concerns in a timely and consistent manner
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred; High School diploma or GED required
- Previous leadership experience in receiving, warehouse, logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing operations is required
- Strong knowledge of receiving processes, inbound freight flow, dock operations, trailer yard coordination, inventory accuracy, and material handling
- Experience with three-part receipt verification, including bill of lading, packing slip, labeling, and system transaction accuracy
- Experience using ERP, MRP, or WMS systems; Oracle experience preferred
- Experience with yard management systems, trailer tracking, switcher coordination, and storage trailer management preferred
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume operation with competing priorities and frequent changes in trailer, dock, and production requirements
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach individuals, build team accountability, and promote safe work behaviors
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to coordinate effectively across shifts, departments, suppliers, carriers, and OSP partners
- Experience working with accounts payable processes, invoice matching, or supplier documentation
- Strong organization, time-management, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
