The Property Management Unit ensures the creation, maintenance and disposition of State leased and owned facilities for all State agencies in a cost-effective manner so that they can provide services to the residents of New Jersey. The incumbent will be required to communicate with real estate brokers, landlords, attorneys for the State as well as representatives of State agencies. The incumbent also needs to have experience reviewing and drafting legal documents relating to office leases including but not limited to: leases, amendments, estoppels, subordination, non-disturbance, attornment agreements, estoppels and clarification of lease terms. The incumbent will provide guidance in regard to the compliance with statutes and regulations pertaining to the mission of the Property Management Unit Review and prepare documents and materials for use in hearings and other executive determinations. Upon request of the Attorney General's Office, reviews the title ownership of real property where an incident is alleged to have occurred on State property and a lawsuit against the State has been filed. Interacts with other agencies and departments to resolve issues regarding property ownership, Employee Housing issues and requested use of State property by outside parties. Reviews and drafts proposed regulations, legislation and amendments related to the Unit’s programs in accordance with the policy objectives of the Division and Department. Reviews and provides guidance and recommendations as to the nature and substance of various statutes and regulations and court decisions impacting the Division's programs. As required. will analyze and perform legal research into State and/or federal legislation, requirements and court decisions pertaining to the Division's programs. functions, and procedures, and prepares reports regarding their impact Provide litigation and other support as requested and coordinate requests for legal advice from the Attorney General's Office. May handle and support the Division in matters before the Office of Administrative Law.
