Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and drinks.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with the kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and sanitation.
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions efficiently while handling cash handling responsibilities with accuracy.
- Maintain knowledge of wine pairings, cocktail recipes, and beverage service techniques to elevate the guest experience.
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and supporting kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Uphold food safety standards, sanitation protocols, and proper food handling procedures at all times.
- Foster positive guest relations by providing attentive service, addressing questions or concerns promptly, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Requirements
- Previous food service experience in restaurants or hospitality environments is highly preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail experience, and drink presentation techniques.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor.
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment.
