Job Overview:
Kairos Labs is actively seeking motivated and dedicated individuals for the pivotal role of Sample Technician. If you are an experienced Sampler, Budtender, or have worked for a cultivation/manufacturer and are looking for an exciting opportunity to join a department to help make cannabis safer for consumers, this is the position for you.
You will join our esteemed Field Samplers team, ensuring exceptional sample intake and client experiences. The ideal candidate embodies strict attention to detail, a passion for building customer relationships, a strong belief in professionality, and an intrinsic drive to be a part of a successful team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
This role will be focused on, but not limited to, driving to client locations in company vehicle, representing Kairos by greeting and interacting with clients, and collecting samples. You will then bring those samples back and check them into the intake department to complete the process. During the sampling process, we require that you maintain a professional image and demeanor at all times and follow proper sampling procedures while gathering and transporting samples. The successful candidate will also support laboratory operations by preparing tests and analyses on cannabis products to ensure quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Follow established procedure inside and outside the lab at all times.
- Follow all CRA guidelines/rules.
- Follow all internal SOP’s during sample collection and submission.
- Coordinate with the internal superior for daily tasks/client route.
- Maintain equipment and ensure the sampling kit is full prior to leaving/when returning.
- Work 8-10 hour shifts as needed.
- Work weekends as needed.
- Deal with customer complaints and keep your supervisor up to date.
- Safely drive to clients to collect required testing sample cannabis batches for intake.
- Perform tier 1 customer support and upselling other testing for our clients during the sampling process.
- Update transportation logs.
- Coordinate with the internal superior for daily tasks/client route.
- Performs physical testing on various cannabis-related specimens following laboratory, state, and ISO 17025 standards.
- Prepare test solutions, compounds and reagents needed to perform testing of organic and inorganic compounds
- Performs a variety of laboratory techniques and procedures such as pipetting, weighing, mixing, and cleaning.
- Utilize laboratory information management systems (LIMS) to record and analyze data.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Perform other duties as assigned by internal superior.
- Maintain a professional company image and personal image at all times.
- Identify areas for improvements in your duties or other areas around the lab.
Required Skills:
- Must be 21 years old with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
- Required to have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Candidates must be comfortable with cannabis products.
- Must have a clean background check.
- Ability to carry 50+ pounds preferred, at least 25 lbs required.
- Be able to drive long hours.
- You must have your own vehicle you can use to commute to and from work.
Preferred Skills:
- 6 months of cannabis sampling and transportation experience.
- 1 year of cannabis testing sales experience or other cannabis sales experience.
- Metrc experience.
- Knowledge of cannabis products, production, grows, etc.( highly preferred, but not required. )
Physical Demands:
- Extensive sitting and computer use.
- Enjoy driving and comfortable being on the road as needed.
- Ability to make overnight trips to the Upper Peninsula as directed.
- Capable of standing continuously for up to 2 hours.
- Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Lift up to 25 lbs.
