Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Operating room nurse with a minimum of two years of plastics operating room experience for our OR team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in AAAHC accredited surgical center. This role requires expertise in various nursing practices, including administering injections, IV infusion, and managing medical records. The Registered Nurse will work closely with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating room environment, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Assist in the administration of anesthesia and monitor patient vital signs throughout surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and their families.
- Participate in critical care transport when necessary, ensuring safe transfer of patients.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment at all times.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in nursing care.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ACLA / BLS certification.
- Experience working as circulator in an Operating Room setting is required.
- Experience in a plastic surgery OR is prefered.
- Familiarity with Level II trauma center operations is a plus.
- Knowledge of internal medicine, pediatrics, and critical care transport is advantageous.
- Proficiency in administering IV infusions and injections.
- Understanding of workers' compensation law as it pertains to patient care is beneficial.
- Previous experience in similar healthcare settings is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
