Palm Beach is seeking a Senior Professional Engineer responsible for developing and implementing traffic signal and system timing plans and detour/incident management plans. Responsible for developing and implementing active traffic management signal timing plans and supervising signal timing staff. Responsible for the Traffic Management Center (TMC). Administers consultant coordination and oversees field reviews and new signal installation inspections; provides assistance to the Manager of Traffic Signal System; develops strategic timing plans for peak hour conditions, congestion management, and integration of signal systems; develops special signal phasing; investigates alternate signal operational and detection technologies, etc. Develops and maintains coordinated signal timings for major corridors. Operates with ATMS.Now and downloads and uploads the signal timings.

QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; minimum of five (5) years of experience in professional engineering or related engineering work, including one (1) year in the supervisory aspects of the work,
OR
-
A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; minimum of four (4) years of experience in professional traffic engineering or related engineering work, including one (1) year in the supervisory aspects of the work.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Qualified applicants for this position MUST:

Be licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida (FL) OR licensed as a P.E. in another state and ability to obtain State of FL P.E. licensure within 11 months of hire.
