We are seeking an experienced and motivated Community and Economic Development Specialist to complement our staff. You will join a team of individuals with a diverse range of expertise who are committed to creating meaningful change through thoughtful planning and strategic community development.
About the Role
As a Community and Economic Development Specialist, you will work on a range of initiatives that contribute to a diverse portfolio of planning, economic development, and redevelopment initiatives that help communities move from vision to implementation. Experience in all focus areas is not required, but candidates should bring expertise and enthusiasm for community transformation and development in some of the following areas:
· Community Development and Redevelopment
· Strategic Planning
· Grant Writing and Implementation
· Federal and State Funding Programs
· Market Assessments/Market Feasibility Studies
· Community and Stakeholder Outreach
· Demographic and Socio-Economic Analysis
· Economic Analysis
· Workforce Development
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience supporting economic development programs and redevelopment activities. They will possess excellent analytical, interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills along with experience supporting economic development and redevelopment activities. The ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and represent the company in meetings and presentations with public and private stakeholders is essential. Travel throughout the tri-state area may be required.
A bachelor’s degree in planning, community development, or a related field and at least five years of experience in economic development, neighborhood planning, redevelopment, affordable housing, or related planning initiatives. Experience with implementation, community visioning, and charrette facilitation is a plus.
