Join our dynamic team as a Wrecker Operator, where you will be the vital link in vehicle recovery and towing operations. You will operate specialized tow trucks, including flatbed and heavy-duty wreckers, to recover and transport vehicles safely while adhering to cargo securement protocols and safety standards. Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and heavy-duty wreckers, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Conduct vehicle inspections, perform minor mechanical repairs, and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure tow readiness.
- Secure vehicles using proper cargo securement protocols to prevent movement during transit.
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks while minimizing damage.
- Assist with vehicle diagnostics and basic automotive troubleshooting to determine recovery or repair needs.
- Manage customer interactions professionally, providing clear communication during towing or recovery processes.
- Follow all safety procedures, traffic laws, and company policies during vehicle recovery operations.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and minor repairs for trucks and cars.
- Proven ability in commercial truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) for heavy-duty vehicles.
- Skilled in automotive repair, troubleshooting, and performing vehicle mechanics for truck drivers.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Experience operating flatbed tow trucks, vehicle recovery towing equipment, and forklift operation if applicable.
- Knowledge of cargo securement protocols, safe vehicle loading techniques, and manual transmission operation.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively under pressure.
