Bucklin Tractor & Implement Co. (BTI) is looking for a highly motivated Service Technican to join our team in our Bucklin location. A Service Technician;s primary responsibility is to independently perform complex diagnostic, service repairs and maintainence work on customer and/or dealer-owned agriculture and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from th Service Manager or Shop Foreman.

Responsibilities:

Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology

Reports any additional work required on equipment to ensure proper operation and safety

Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information

Keeping records required to establish cost of parts and labor charge to customer

Performs diagnostics and repairs in the field as required

Handle customer issues objectively and tactfully

Answer service phone calls and assisting the customer accordingly

Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities

Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion

Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
- Participate in John Deere training courses and other continuing education classes, as assigned

Perform related and other duties, as assigned
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
-
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred.

Valid driver’s license is required

Minimum 1-2 years of experience performing mechanical service repairs required

Ag Tech Graduate or 2 years of John Deere experience preferred

Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment, following Technical Manual procedures

Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment

Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes
-
Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR™ or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred

Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing
-
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
