Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy pots, trays, or boxes to prevent injury.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces, adhering to sanitation standards.
- Assist in food safety practices by properly disposing of waste and ensuring all cleaning supplies are stored safely.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while following health and safety standards to prevent accidents or contamination.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently throughout shifts.
- Familiarity with basic kitchen operations such as dishwashing, bussing, or food handling is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience with catering, banquet service, or hotel kitchens can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
