Machine Sorting Operator
Summary
Programming fastener sorting machine computers and adjusting cameras/lighting to look for defects. Simultaneously operates a minimum of three fastener sorting machines including making, weighing, taping, labeling and skidding boxes.
Position Responsibilities
- Set up, program and run multiple fastener sorting machines
- Weigh and count parts, seal boxes, and apply labels as required
- Complete daily production records and document boundary results
- Properly follow machine boundary testing procedures
- Keep master and boundary sample parts organized and up to date
- Use a computer to report the number of parts sorted
- Move parts between containers using a hydraulic dumper
- Pull and organize WIP (work in progress) for each machine based on priority and demand
- Operate a forklift to move skids, tubs, and other materials
- Understand and follow customer specific requirements
- Participate in safety training, follow all safety policies, and help promote a safe work environment
- Support forklift operations for both machine and manual sorting activities
- Keep machines clean and presentable-this includes daily wipe downs, weekly cleanouts (chutes, tub loaders, conveyors) and monthly PM cleanings (internal blow-offs)
- Maintain a clean and organized department
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks when needed
- Handle other tasks assigned by your supervisor

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or the equivalent formal experience required
- Experience using basic hand tools is required
- Caliper & micrometer experience is a plus
- Experience repairing mechanical equipment is a plus
- Forklift experience is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
