About the Role
Creative Laboratories LLC, a manufacturer of professional hair and skin care products is hiring a Finance Intern to join our Finance team.
This role supports the Finance team across sales analysis, monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and accounting. You'll work with real sales data — including internal shipments and point-of-sale data from retailer and distributor partners — build and maintain recurring reporting, and support ad hoc analysis for leadership. The Finance Intern reports to the Senior Financial Analyst and has regular visibility to the CFO and cross-functional leaders across the business.
What You'll Do
Sales Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze sales and expense trends across brands, customers, and channels, and summarize findings for the Finance team.
- Develop new, informative sales reporting that improves visibility for sales leadership and executives.
- Support weekly in-month sales estimates using month-to-date posted sales and open order data.
Monthly Reporting, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist with the monthly reporting cycle, including data pulls, variance analysis, and preparation of supporting schedules for the Monthly Business Report.
- Support the annual budgeting process and in-year reforecasts, including data gathering, template maintenance, and variance checks.
- Develop and maintain headcount tracking and reconcile it against budget and forecast assumptions.
Accounting & Data Support
- Provide accounting support, such as account reconciliations, accrual support, and month-end close assistance.
- Clean, organize, and validate financial and sales data sets to ensure reporting accuracy.
Cross-Functional & Ad Hoc
- Partner with sales, operations, and brand teams to answer data questions and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Complete ad hoc analysis and special projects as assigned, such as new product analysis and pricing support.
What You'll Bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; junior or senior standing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and building clean, organized workbooks.
- Solid analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy in numbers.
- Ability to manage multiple recurring deliverables and meet deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week on a primarily remote basis.
Nice to Have
- Coursework or prior internship experience in FP&A, accounting, or data analysis.
- Familiarity with consumer products, retail, or point-of-sale (POS) data.
- Exposure to Power Query, Power BI, SQL, or similar data tools.
- Located within commuting distance of Eagan, MN for one in-office day per week.
Physical Requirements
This role is primarily computer-based, requiring frequent, extended keyboarding and screen use, along with clear vision and hearing sufficient to review detailed financial and sales data. Occasional travel to the Eagan, MN office is required, approximately one day per week.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
