Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Clinic Assistant to join our team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to support clinical operations, enhance patient experiences, and contribute to the smooth functioning of our busy optometry clinics. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a passion for patient care, and familiarity with medical office procedures.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out processes, ensuring efficient patient flow.
- Collect and document patient intake information, including medical history and current concerns.
- Perform basic vision screenings in accordance with clinic protocols.
- Maintain patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare examination rooms using aseptic techniques to uphold safety and cleanliness standards.
- Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering phone inquiries, and processing payments.
- Assist with optical tasks such as frame selection, lens ordering, and retail sales to enhance patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical office settings or optometry clinics is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with EMR systems used in healthcare environments.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmology concepts.
- Experience with intake procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Background in retail sales or customer service within optical or healthcare settings is advantageous.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Be able to work well on a team, as well as self-motivating when working alone.
