Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on airport security screening systems and equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical failures
- Troubleshoot circuit boards (PCB), sensors, wiring, and electronic components
- Use multimeters and test equipment to perform voltage testing and diagnostics
- Respond to service calls and restore equipment to operational status
- Serve as the primary technical contact for airport personnel and end users
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and troubleshooting actions
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and system testing as needed
- Maintain compliance with safety, security, and operational procedures
- Participate in on-call support and non-traditional work schedules when required
Required Qualifications
- Experience with electromechanical troubleshooting and repair
- Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Proficiency using multimeters and electrical testing equipment
- Experience performing voltage testing and fault isolation
- Knowledge of PCBs, circuit boards, electronics, and control systems
- Background in preventative maintenance, field service, or equipment repair
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot under pressure
- Ability to pass drug screening, criminal background check, physical examination, and airport security/badging requirements
- Must reside within commuting distance of the assigned airport location
Preferred Qualifications
- Field Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, Electronics Technician, or related experience
- Experience supporting security systems, automated equipment, conveyor systems, or industrial machinery
- Stable financial history that supports security clearance requirements
- Prior experience working in airports, transportation, logistics, or regulated environments
- Interest in long-term career growth within technical field service organizations
Work Arrangement
- On-Site
- Two weeks of paid technical training followed by structured field training
- Approximately 50% customer support and 50% preventative maintenance/troubleshooting
- Minimal travel required
- On-call support and flexible scheduling may be required
- Must safely work in confined spaces, crawl around equipment, lift components, and stand, bend, kneel, or climb for extended periods
- Hourly pay range: $30-35/hour based on experience and assignment location
