Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist with meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety protocols
- Support cooking processes by handling food prep tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients
- Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools are sanitized and ready for use
- Assist with basic cooking tasks under supervision, including grilling, sautéing, and plating dishes
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure quality standards are met
- Contribute to menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods when needed
Skills
- Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Knowledge of food handling safety practices and kitchen sanitation standards
- Familiarity with menu planning and meal preparation techniques
- Excellent knife skills for efficient ingredient processing
- Previous restaurant or catering experience that demonstrates adaptability in a fast-paced environment
