Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our team. The BHT provides essential support to patients during detoxification and residential treatment, ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.

Conduct zone inspections at the beginning of each shift and perform/document 30-minute rounds.

Complete BHT observation forms in the Electronic Medical Record.

Supervise patients in community activities, ensuring rules and routines are followed.

Assist in crisis de-escalation, redirection, and maintaining patient safety.

Support admissions by conducting searches, inventories, urine drug screens, and assisting with new admits.

Facilitate patient transportation for admissions, discharges, and appointments.

Distribute phones and electronics at designated times and assist with room changes when needed.

Maintain clear, accurate, and confidential documentation and clinical records.

Complete incident reports and participate in quality improvement activities.

Attend in-service training and actively pursue professional development.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, reporting significant developments.

Demonstrate professional boundaries, problem-solving, and adaptability to different patient needs.

Contribute positively to team morale and maintain professional work habits.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required. Bachelors preferred in psychology or human services

At least 1 year of experience in a related field.

Current CPR certification (must be maintained).

Valid Florida driver’s license with “E” endorsement and no violations.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of patient confidentiality laws, drug-free workplace policies, workplace violence prevention, and corporate compliance standards.

Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
