About the Role
As a Utility Lead, your role will require you to be a jack-of-all-trades.
Every day will look a bit different as you will be responsible for supporting our lawn maintenance division. Some days you will be tasked with filling in for a crew lead that is absent, while the next day you may be responsible for pruning shrubs for a contracted community.
Given the variability of the role, being flexible is incredibly important. The role also necessitates punctuality, efficiency with tools, and proactivity in keeping properties looking their best.
Requirements
✔ Valid Driver’s License & Clean Record – You’ll be responsible for driving to job sites.
✔ Prior Lawn Maintenance Leadership Experience – Hands-on leadership in the lawn maintenance field is a must.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Mowing Expertise – Proficiency with push mowers, zero-turn, and stand-on mowers.
- Trimming & Edging – Skilled in string trimmers, metal edgers, and debris removal.
- Plant & Lawn Care Knowledge – Understanding of grass types, shrub maintenance, and weed control techniques.
- Driving - Proficiency with hauling a trailer.
- Equipment Handling – Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and keep tools clean and organized.
- Tech-Savvy – Comfortable using our job tracking mobile app to update property status.
- Flexibility & Teamwork – Willing to be cross-trained for landscaping, mulching, tree jobs, drainage work, and more.
- All-Weather Readiness – Capable of working outdoors in all conditions, including snow.
- Lifting - The ability to lift at least 50 pounds for job-related tasks.
Expectations
- Utility Lead is a "floater" position - a willingness to jump into any responsibility on a given day is necessary for this role.
- Utility Leads play a vital role in our company, so reliable attendance is essential (a week’s notice for planned absences is greatly appreciated).
- Utility Leads must maintain high-quality standards across all jobs and properties.
