SCHEDULE: 2nd Shift 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, typically Monday through Friday

JOB DESCRIPTION
Mechanics in this position will be trained to provide superior maintenance on both diesel equipment and, at some locations, on our growing fleet of compressed natural gas trucks. The Diesel Mechanic will work with other experienced Diesel Mechanics using a high level of skill, modern maintenance practices and technologies to include hydraulics, electrical and diagnostics. All while following established procedures to accomplish daily tasks and grow in skills and knowledge. We care about our Mechanic’s safety and show it by demanding solid safety practices of all our shop staff and managers. Our shop is modern, clean, organized and focused on delivering a high rate of efficiency. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Must successfully complete and pass applicable pre-employment background check, driving record review, physical and drug screening
- Ability to perform the physical requirements and demands of the position
- Must reliably commute to the designated work location, and may relocate before beginning employment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2-year Degree in Automotive, Diesel, or Heavy Truck Maintenance including computer diagnostics and hydraulics is preferred but not required.
- No prior work experience or automotive education is required, but is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered adequate.
- Commercial Driver’s License is preferred but not required (WCS may provide training to interested candidates)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to operate large, heavy-duty vehicles
- Ability to drive safely and learn new processes
- Ability to work a consistent work schedule, as punctuality is required
- Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
- Ability to hear at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to operate a tablet / basic computer skills
- Maintains a strong work ethic with a focus on safety
- Mechanical aptitude
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OR REGISTRATIONS
- Current Minnesota Class D Driver’s License is required.
- Ability to provide or acquire a current Class A or Class B Minnesota Commercial Driver’s License / Permit, including air-brakes, without restrictions (WCS will provide the means to become licensed to qualified candidates).
- Ability to provide or obtain a current valid Health Card (MEC).
