We're looking for a hands-on Hydraulic Component Repair Technician with experience repairing, troubleshooting, rebuilding, and testing hydraulic components and mechanical assemblies. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys diagnosing problems, restoring components to serviceable condition, and working with precision in a shop environment.
The ideal candidate has experience working with hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, actuators, manifolds, fittings, or fluid power systems and is comfortable using shop equipment, measuring tools, and testing equipment to perform quality repairs. This is a technician role focused on hands-on work—not engineering, design, or management.
Relevant backgrounds include hydraulic repair, fluid power, heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, mobile equipment, manufacturing, agriculture, construction equipment, mining equipment, or similar mechanical repair environments.
What You'll Do:
- Perform disassembly, inspection, cleaning, repair, overhaul, and reassembly of hydraulic components and mechanical assemblies
- Diagnose hydraulic and mechanical failures to determine appropriate repair solutions
- Inspect cylinders, pumps, valves, fittings, manifolds, seals, threads, housings, and internal components for wear or damage
- Replace seals, bearings, bushings, fasteners, and other serviceable components while restoring assemblies to specification
- Perform pressure testing, leak testing, and functional testing of repaired components
- Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, hydraulic test equipment, presses, fixtures, and other shop equipment
- Remove damaged fasteners, repair threads, fit replacement parts, and prepare components for reassembly
- Read and follow repair manuals, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Accurately document inspections, repairs, testing results, and completed work in accordance with quality standards
What We're Looking For:
- Hands-on experience repairing hydraulic components, fluid power systems, or mechanical equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical problems rather than simply replacing parts
- Experience working with seals, O-rings, bearings, fittings, valves, cylinders, pumps, or similar hydraulic components
- Comfortable using precision measuring tools and shop equipment to complete quality repairs
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, repair procedures, and service manuals
- Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn specialized repair processes
- Able to work independently after training while collaborating effectively with the team
Strong Fit for This Role:
Candidates with experience in any of the following are encouraged to apply:
- Hydraulic cylinder repair and rebuilding
- Hydraulic pump or motor overhaul
- Hydraulic valve repair and testing
- Fluid power systems maintenance
- Heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, mining equipment, or industrial machinery repair
- Seal replacement and hydraulic leak diagnosis
- Pressure testing, leak testing, and functional testing
- Thread repair, broken fastener removal, and precision mechanical assembly
- Use of presses, pullers, torque tools, measuring equipment, and hydraulic shop equipment
- Mechanical troubleshooting and component overhaul
Preferred, But Not Required:
- Experience with hydraulic component repair, remanufacturing, or overhaul
- Background in industrial maintenance, fluid power, manufacturing, heavy equipment, or mobile equipment repair
- Familiarity with hydraulic schematics and fluid power principles
- Experience with hydraulic test stands or pressure testing equipment
- Experience following quality procedures, inspection standards, and technical documentation
- Hydraulic or fluid power certifications are a plus but are not required
