Job Summary: Under direct supervision performs all duties to assist radiologists. Works effectively and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental hospital personnel. The hours for this position will be 7 days on, 7 days off working the hours of 8:30pm-6:30am if it is a week-day and 6:30pm to 6:30am if a weekend.
Major Job Functions:
- Distributes paperwork from outside hospitals to physicians to be read.
- Answers the telephone and distributes calls as needed as well as answering physicians’ pages.
- Get physicians on the phone as needed.
- Picks up lunch, dinner, or snacks for physicians as needed.
- Will make calls to remote hospitals.
- Fax preliminary reports to remote hospitals.
- Pulls up studies on PAC system. Call them when there are problems.
- Processes paperwork on pending list.
- Keeps detailed logs of all paperwork.
- Assist interdepartmental hospital personnel, as well as satellite hospital personnel, with anything they need.
- Work on fax machine and computer when needed.
- Adhere to all policies, standards and procedures.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested
Specifications:
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Experience: Clerical experience preferred
- Certification/License/Registration: None
- Position Titles and Number Supervised: None.
- Special Training/Skills: Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations. Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects. Ability to interact on all levels. Must have good communication skills. Must be courteous at all times with interdepartmental personnel.
- Physical Demands: General vision, clear speech, hearing, reading, writing, standing, walking. May use some repetitive movements, bend, kneel or move or carry light objects. Occasional filing or typing.
- Working Conditions: Works in a medical facility. Works well with others verbal and face-to-face contact.
