Duties
- Lead engaging coding classes and workshops tailored to various age groups, primarily focusing on children and teenagers
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs and skill levels
- Facilitate hands-on activities involving computer programming, robotics, and technology projects
- Provide personalized support to students, encouraging persistence and confidence in their abilities
- Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring safety, organization, and positive behavior
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and student engagement
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to promote growth
Experience
- Prior experience teaching math or science subjects such as algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, chemistry, biology (including microbiology, biochemistry, genetics), or related STEM fields
- Demonstrated ability to work with children or teenagers in educational settings or extracurricular programs
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive environment
- Experience developing lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles and learning technology tools
- Knowledge of computer science concepts such as data structures, algorithms, discrete math, and machine learning is highly desirable
- Background in tutoring or online instruction preferred but not required
- Familiarity with special education strategies or working with diverse learning needs is a plus
