Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team in a temporary capacity, working during daytime shifts. This role is essential in supporting surgical procedures by preparing the operating environment, assisting surgical teams, and ensuring adherence to strict aseptic techniques. The ideal candidate will bring comprehensive OR experience, strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care. Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment functions correctly prior to procedures.
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgeries by passing instruments, suturing, and managing surgical tools efficiently.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques throughout all procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Monitor vital signs and patient responses during surgery, documenting relevant data accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support data collection related to surgical outcomes, infection control measures, and procedural documentation.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of sharps, biohazard materials, and contaminated supplies following hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia providers, nurses, and physicians to facilitate smooth operative workflows.
- Demonstrate proficiency with hospital information systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms for accurate medical records management.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to anticipate surgical needs and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Adhere to infection control policies and participate in ongoing training related to acute care practices.
Must Have:
- 2+ Years of CST Experience - [REQUIRED]
- Ortho, OB-GYN, and General - [PREFERRED]
- NBSTSA - [REQUIRED]
- BLS - [REQUIRED]
- Driver's license
- Immunization records (Chart)
- 2 Supervisory references
Shifts: Days: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm (8 hrs)
