Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical pharmacy, with experience in long-term care (LTC) and critical care settings. This role requires a commitment to patient service and the ability to manage pharmacy staff effectively.
Duties
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing and compounding medications.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.
- Conduct patient assessments and provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication management and pain management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Manage inventory effectively to ensure the availability of medications and supplies.
- Oversee the training and development of pharmacy technicians and support staff.
- Administer immunizations and perform IV insertion as needed.
- Utilize pharmacy software, EMR systems, and EHR systems for efficient workflow management.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient care activities.
- Provide education to patients regarding their medications, including potential side effects and proper usage.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing.
- Experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care, or acute care settings preferred.
- Completion of a pharmacy residency is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical pharmacy experience with knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic technique.
- Proficiency in compounding medications and IV infusion techniques.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient assessment and care.
- Familiarity with inventory management practices within a pharmacy setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating leadership qualities.

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
