Job Summary:
These positions are intended to join the Nurse Residency Program at Hilo Benioff Medical Center by transitioning from Graduate Nurse to Registered Professional Nurse II.
This position is under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. Graduate nurses and Registered Nurse II's will receive orientation and guidance on nursing policies and procedures and nursing care techniques; provide nursing care, treatment services and/or health education information as directed.
Education Requirements:
Graduation with a Bachelor’s or Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable. Evidence of appropriate training (ex. Official transcript or diploma) should be submitted with the application to be given credit for education. A legible photocopy will be accepted. However, Hilo Benioff Medical Center reserves the right to request an official copy.
Experience: None Required
License Required: Valid Hawaii Registered Nurse License.
Certificate:
Basic Life Support (BLS) in Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) must be obtained within one (1) month of employment. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) in Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) is preferred. Please submit copy of certification with the application.

- Rates listed for paid holidays, vacation and sick days are for 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions assigned to 8 hour shifts. Accruals for these benefits are otherwise prorated based on FTE.
Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
