Inspire and empower students across elementary and secondary levels as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a well-supported school environment near Pittsfield, MA. This full-time contract position, at 37.5 hours per week, provides you with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for students with hearing challenges across a district-wide caseload. You'll collaborate with qualified paraeducator support and enjoy the flexibility to work with both elementary and secondary students. This position welcomes candidates interested in onsite or VOCO (remote/virtual) service delivery.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or eligibility for certification
- Experience or strong interest in supporting deaf or hard of hearing students in K-12 settings
- Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to accommodate diverse learner needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with instructional teams and families
- Comfort working in both in-person and virtual settings is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective and engaging instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across the district
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with support staff, paraeducators, and classroom teachers to provide inclusive education experiences
- Assess student progress and adjust strategies to ensure optimal learning and development
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student self-advocacy and independence
