Overview
Tease Southern Kitchen is looking for a dependable and hardworking part-time Kitchen Prep Cook to join our team at our Emeryville Public Market location.
This position assists with daily food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and keeping the kitchen organized. The ideal candidate works efficiently, follows recipes and food-safety procedures, and stays calm during busy service periods.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients, sauces, vegetables, proteins, and side dishes
- Assist with cooking and plating menu items according to our recipes
- Operate fryers, stovetops, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely
- Portion and label food accurately
- Restock ingredients and prepare the kitchen for service
- Maintain clean and organized prep and cooking stations
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment when needed
- Follow food-safety, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures
- Help receive, rotate, and properly store food deliveries
- Work cooperatively with cooks, cashiers, and management
- Complete opening and closing duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, food-preparation, or cooking experience preferred
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Able to lift and carry approximately 40 pounds
- Available for some evening and weekend shifts
- Valid California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
