Job Summary
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Community Service Officer (CSO) to join our public safety team. The CSO plays a vital role in maintaining community safety, providing assistance, and supporting law enforcement efforts. Responsibilities
- Conduct patrols and surveillance in designated areas to monitor community activity and identify potential safety concerns.
- Assist law enforcement officers with investigations, including gathering information and documenting incidents through detailed report writing.
- Provide first aid and CPR when necessary to assist injured individuals until emergency services arrive.
- Manage conflict situations with professionalism, employing conflict management techniques to de-escalate tensions.
- Support loss prevention efforts by monitoring for suspicious activity in commercial or public spaces.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes.
- Assist with community outreach programs aimed at improving neighborhood safety and awareness.
Skills
- Florida D or G Security License - Preferred (not required)
- Certificate of Community Service Officer or Public Service Aid - Preferred ( not required)
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures, and report writing skills.
- First aid, CPR certification preferred; ability to respond effectively during emergencies.
- Strong surveillance skills with attention to detail for monitoring activities and identifying issues.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage conflicts calmly and effectively.
- Experience or background in military service or security operations is advantageous.
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record for patrolling duties.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with the public, law enforcement personnel, and community members.
- Ability to handle animals responsibly and compassionately when required.
