SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Behavioral Health Nurse will provide high-quality care to clients undergoing detoxification and rehabilitation from substance use disorders. Acting as a client advocate in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the Behavioral Health Nurse conducts medical assessments and offers psycho-social support to clients and their families.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct nursing care to clients in a residential setting, following established protocols.

Facilitate self-administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Create individualized detox treatment plans.
- Assist with detoxification procedures and manage withdrawal symptoms.

Monitor and document clients' progress, including vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment.

Conduct health assessments and screenings, identifying any changes in clients' physical or mental health status.

Complete Intakes and Admissions of new clients.

Conduct safety checks in accordance with Joint Commission regulations.
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare providers and community health resources and educate clients on health and medication.

Educate clients and their families about the recovery process, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Encourage individuals and family members to develop and use skills and strategies for confronting their problems in a constructive manner.

Oversee the smooth progression of daily client schedules.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date.

Uphold all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a secure environment for clients and staff.

Safely operate company vehicles to perform a variety of tasks, including transporting clients to and from appointments, treatment sessions, and other designated locations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

Current and in good standing LVN, LPT, or RN license in the state of CA required.

Experience working in a behavioral health setting preferred.
- Curent CPR/First Aide Certification.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with individuals in recovery.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality guidelines.

Successful completion of background check, drug test, physical, and TB screening.

Valid driver's license and proof of active personal vehicle insurance.
