Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Sales Manager duties will include but not be limited to the following:
· Oversee the regional and local sales team of approximately 32, including salespeople, supervisors, merchandisers, foodservice specialists, and business development personnel
· Plan and direct staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and enable sales and service within the team
· Review sales reports to project sales and determine profitability
· Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts
· Prepare annual Sales Plans for the future fiscal year
· Confer or consult with department heads to plan sales strategies with prospects and customers
· Direct and coordinate activities involving sales of products and services
· Confer with potential customers regarding product/service needs and advise customers on types of equipment/programs to purchase and advise them of those that would benefit their business
· Direct Sales Admin staff regarding reporting related to sales activities and licensures
· Assess marketing potential of new and existing store locations considering statistics and expenditures
· Represent company at various food shows and vendor conferences to promote products /services (2x year)
· Position is based at the Milton, FL distribution center with day travel to drivable territories in FL and AL with limited overnight travel to MS and LA.
Position Requirements:
· Minimum 3 years of sales-related work experience with demonstrable track record of success (any industry considered)
· Previous supervisory experience, specifically with leading a team – prefer experience in wholesales or retail sales environment
· Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and Excel
· Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred, although related work-experience will be considered in lieu of degree
· Must live in or be willing to relocate to a commutable distance of Milton, FL (Pensacola area)
