Position Summary
The Purchasing Agent procures raw materials, components, and services to support manufacturing operations at Best Buy Metals LLC. This role focuses on maintaining adequate inventory levels, ensuring on-time delivery to meet production schedules, and optimizing cost, quality, and supplier performance in accordance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Weekly pay $17.00 -$20.00 Depending on experience

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
Review purchase requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate approvals.
Convert approved requisitions into purchase orders (POs) in the company’s ERP or purchasing system.
Confirm order acknowledgments, shipping dates, and quantities; resolve discrepancies between orders, deliveries, and invoices.
Expedite or defer orders as necessary to meet production requirements and inventory targets.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records, including contracts, POs, vendor data, and pricing.
- Support Inventory and Production
- Work closely with Production, Planning, and Warehouse/Logistics to ensure materials and components are available to meet production schedules.
Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and lead times; recommend adjustments to reorder points and order quantities.
- Assist the purchasing team with Cost Management and Continuous Improvement
Track and report key purchasing metrics (e.g., purchase price variance, on-time delivery, supplier quality issues).
Recommend and help implement process improvements in purchasing workflows, documentation, and systems.
- Compliance and Documentation
Follow company purchasing policies, approval thresholds, and internal controls.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, pricing, and supplier agreements.
The most qualified candidates will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
- Experienced in purchasing, supply chain, or buyer experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metals, building products, or similar industry preferred
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; attention to detail.
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or industry-specific systems) preferred
- Ability to read and understand purchase specifications, bills of materials, and technical drawings at a basic level.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing or ERP software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
