Kosmos Logistics is a freight brokerage operating across the Mexico–United States trade corridor. We move freight for clients in the automotive, food , agricultural, and textile sectors, and we are actively expanding into technology and electronics.
We are a small, direct team. There is no layer of middle management between you and the decision-maker, which means less bureaucracy and more ownership.
Position summary
Own Kosmos Logistics shipments end to end: quote the freight, source and negotiate with carriers, track the load, and serve as the client's direct point of contact. This is an execution role with direct customer ownership — it is not a prospecting or sales position.
You own the file from the moment the client's request comes in through delivery.
What you will do
Carrier sourcing and negotiation
- Post and search freight on loadboards to cover shipments at the best available cost.
- Negotiate carrier rates, protecting the target margin on each load without compromising service.
- Vet carriers before tendering: active MC/DOT authority, current certificate of insurance with adequate limits, and identity verification against fraud and double-brokering.
- Issue and track rate confirmations, bills of lading, and proof of delivery.
Load management
- Track shipments in transit and flag deviations before they become service failures.
- Resolve detention, delays, reschedules, and in-transit exceptions, escalating only when commercial impact warrants it.
- Log every shipment in the Kosmos Operations Register: client, carrier, revenue, direct cost, margin, and collection status.
Customer service
- Serve as the client's direct contact through the full lifecycle: quote, confirmation, proactive status updates, and closeout.
- Communicate problems early and with a proposed solution, not just a status report.
- Retain and grow volume on assigned accounts through service quality.
Mexico–U.S. cross-border
- Coordinate cross-border shipments, aligning transfer, Mexican carrier, and U.S. carrier.
- Confirm import and export documentation is complete before freight reaches the border.
- Communicate in Spanish with counterparts, carriers, and customs brokers in Mexico.
