This full-time contract opportunity seeks a compassionate Special Education Teacher to join the GNETS (Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports) program serving students with intensive social-emotional and behavioral needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction to students enrolled in the GNETS program
- Develop and implement measurable IEP goals, ensuring accommodations and compliance
- Utilize positive behavior interventions and effective classroom management techniques
- Collaborate with administrators, families, related service providers, and paraprofessionals
- Track student growth, maintain supportive data, and document progress
- Differentiate instruction across Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies
- Create and maintain a structured, emotionally safe classroom atmosphere
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Special Education General Curriculum Certification
- Endorsement/qualification to teach across all core content areas
- Proven ability to write and implement IEPs
- Experience working with students who exhibit significant behavioral challenges
- Understanding of applied behavior intervention strategies
- Willingness to provide three professional references, including a recent supervisor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a GNETS or specialized educational setting
- Training in CPI, de-escalation techniques, or similar behavior management strategies
- Familiarity supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders
