Job Summary
Bryan Materials Group is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Plant/Deck Laborer to join our concrete/aggregate production team. This position is responsible for supporting daily plant operations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting plant personnel to ensure efficient production and quality control.
This is a hands-on position that requires physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to work in an outdoor industrial environment. Barge experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform general plant clean-up and housekeeping duties
- Assist with operation and maintenance of plant equipment
- Shovel, sweep, and remove debris from conveyors, hoppers, and work areas
- Assist with loading and unloading materials
- Support plant operators and mechanics as needed
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Marine and barge work, rigging, deckhand labor work
- Inspect equipment and report maintenance issues
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools
- Work in varying weather conditions
- Welding experience a plus; General mechanical experience a plus
- Front-End Loader experience a plus
- Concrete crushing/Screening experience a plus
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in construction, concrete, aggregate, or industrial environments preferred but not required
- Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting 50+ lbs regularly)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work at heights
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Barge experience and line tying important
- Front End Loader/Skidsteer/Fork Lift Experience a big plus
Work Environment
- Outdoor and industrial setting
- Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and heavy equipment
- PPE required (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.)
