Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, consistency, and flair, ensuring timely delivery during service hours
- Follow established recipes and food safety protocols to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and quality
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection, portioning, and presentation techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to sanitation standards at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and exceptional guest experiences
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, seasoning, and plating with skillful knife techniques
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality control
Skills
- Proven experience as a line cook in a fast-paced restaurant or culinary environment, preferably with fine dining experience
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation regulations
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques across different cuisines
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating versatility in food service needs
- Familiarity with catering operations and serving large groups effectively
