Lead Day Program Staff

About the Position
Flowers Community Living Day Services is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Lead Day Program Staff member to assist with the daily operation of our adult day program serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This position is ideal for an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) who is ready to take on additional leadership responsibilities while continuing to provide direct support to program participants.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
- Assist with opening the day program each morning.
- Provide guidance and support to Day Program Staff throughout the day.
- Serve as a lead staff member when management is unavailable.
- Help train and mentor new employees.
- Assist with maintaining staff accountability and professionalism.
- Communicate concerns, incidents, and operational needs to management.
Participant Care & Supervision
- Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assist participants with daily activities and personal care as needed.
- Encourage independence, community involvement, and personal growth.
- Facilitate group activities, recreational activities, and skill-building opportunities.
- Ensure participant safety and well-being at all times.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete daily documentation accurately and on time.
- Assist with incident reports and other required paperwork.
- Follow all agency, Medicaid, and DBHDD regulations and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding participants and company operations.
Transportation & Attendance
- Assist with participant arrival and departure procedures.
- Help coordinate transportation needs when necessary.
- Monitor attendance and report participant absences.
- Ensure participants are safely accounted for throughout the day.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Previous leadership or senior DSP experience preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to lift, assist, and support participants as needed.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to arrive consistently for a 6:30 AM start time.
