Job Overview
We are seeking a kind, patient, and experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a young man with intellectual and developmental disabilities in his home. This position involves 1:1 support to help him engage in daily living and community activities in a structured, respectful, and person-centered way. In this vital role, you will empower the individual to achieve their personal goals, promote independence, and enhance their quality of life through personalized assistance and attentive care. Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medications as directed.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Transport to community outings or activities, in your own vehicle, to promote social engagement and independence.
- Monitor safety, mood, and behaviors, and intervene as needed using ABA-based approaches.
- Support and supervise housekeeping tasks, and assist as needed to keep the home clean, organized, and clutter-free
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, including daily shift notes, ABC charts, and incident reports.
- Follow safety protocols, including first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures, to ensure client safety at all times.
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities (3+ years preferred).

- College educated.
- CPR and First Aid certified.
- Valid U.S. work authorization.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass fingerprinting background check and drug screening.
- No pets, smoking, or alcohol permitted in the home.
- Must be dependable, respectful, and able to follow individual support plans.
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred. Training will be provided
Compensation & Schedule:$22.00 – $25.00 per hour.
Full-time 30-40 hours per week, with possibility of room and board—details to be discussed.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
