Job Summary
The Pillbox Pharmacy is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to expand our long-term care pharmacy services throughout Northwest Ohio. This position is responsible for developing relationships and securing new business with assisted-living communities, skilled-nursing facilities, behavioral health organizations, group homes, senior-living operators, and other residential care providers. In this pivotal role, you will identify new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and lead initiatives that enhance our market presence. Your proactive approach and strong relationship management skills will be essential in closing deals and fostering long-term client relationships. Duties
- Identify and pursue new long-term care pharmacy opportunities throughout Northwest Ohio
- Develop relationships with facility owners, administrators, executive directors, directors of nursing, wellness directors, and other decision-makers
- Generate prospects through telephone outreach, email, referrals, networking, industry events, and in-person facility visits
- Schedule and conduct discovery meetings and pharmacy-service presentations
- Evaluate each organization’s medication-management needs and help develop customized service proposals
- Manage prospects through the full sales cycle, from initial contact through agreement and implementation
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline and accurately document activity in the company’s CRM or tracking system
- Coordinate proposals, agreements, onboarding, and implementation with pharmacy leadership and operations
- Maintain regular communication with prospective clients throughout longer healthcare sales cycles
- Support newly acquired accounts during implementation and help ensure a successful transition
- Monitor competitors, referral sources, market developments, and growth opportunities
- Represent The Pillbox Pharmacy at professional, community, and industry events
- Provide regular reports on outreach activity, pipeline status, conversion rates, and new business results
- Follow all applicable HIPAA, privacy, compliance, and ethical business-development requirements
Experience
- two or more years of business development, outside sales, account management, or healthcare relationship-building experience preferred
- Experience in long-term care, assisted living, skilled nursing, pharmacy, home health, hospice, medical sales, behavioral health, or senior services strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships and generate new business
- Strong presentation, negotiation, follow-up, and closing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in the field
- Ability to manage multiple prospects and maintain accurate sales records
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM systems
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout Ohio
