Gray Analytics is seeking a talented Senior Systems Engineer to support the development of advanced defense and space systems through the application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering methodologies. This is for a future contract.
The successful candidate will contribute across the systems engineering lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop system requirements, architectures, interface definitions, verification strategies, and technical products that support innovative mission solutions.
This position supports programs in Huntsville, Alabama, with work performed in a hybrid environment that includes customer facilities, integration laboratories, and test facilities. Travel is anticipated to be less than 10%.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain MBSE models using tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, IBM DOORS, Jama, or similar Digital Engineering applications.
- Develop system requirements, functional architectures, interface definitions, and verification artifacts.
- Support development of a collaborative Digital Engineering environment and Digital Thread implementation.
- Perform systems engineering analyses, trade studies, and technical assessments supporting system design decisions.
- Support system integration, verification, validation, and test planning activities.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, cybersecurity, and test engineering teams to ensure cohesive system solutions.
- Participate in technical reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and SVR.
- Analyze system performance and recommend technical improvements.
- Apply systems engineering processes and best practices throughout the program lifecycle.
- Mentor junior engineers in systems engineering processes and MBSE techniques.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.

Minimum of five (5) years of systems engineering experience supporting DoD or Government programs.

Experience using MBSE tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, IBM DOORS, Jama, Rhapsody, or similar.

Working knowledge of SysML and Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies.

Understanding of systems engineering processes throughout the system lifecycle.

Experience developing requirements, interfaces, and verification products.

Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within integrated product teams.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

U.S. Citizenship and an Active DoD Security Clearance.
Desired Qualifications

Experience with requirements management, configuration management, and change control processes.

Familiarity with Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA).

Familiarity with Government Reference Architectures.

Experience supporting Digital Engineering initiatives in accordance with DoDI 5000.97.

Experience supporting missile defense, hypersonic, space, or other complex defense systems.
