Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Cook food items efficiently while maintaining high quality and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including knives, ovens, fryers, and food prep tools
- Follow food safety protocols and handle food products with care to ensure cleanliness and hygiene
- Assist with meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and ensure timely service
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Familiarity with food safety management standards and safety procedures in production environments
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to menu planning guidelines
- Experience operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen staff
- Demonstrated understanding of food handling, sanitation, and safety standards in the food industry
