Job Summary
Mother’s Refuge is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and organized Family Services Coordinator to support the delivery of services for residents in our program. This position plays an important role in assisting with daily program operations, overseeing aftercare services, supporting transitional living needs, coordinating community outreach efforts, and helping ensure residents and program participants receive meaningful care and support.
The ideal candidate has experience working with teenagers, single parents, individuals experiencing homelessness, newborns, or residential support programs. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, flexibility, and a heart for serving young mothers and their babies.
Responsibilities
- Assist the management team in delivering services to program residents.
- Oversee the Aftercare Program, including maintaining participant relationships, providing case management, arranging aftercare events, and helping meet client needs.
- Assist with daily operations of the Transitional Living Program, including household checks, transportation, and move-ins or move-outs.
- Help supervise the condition and upkeep of donations, off-site storage, and on-site storage areas.
- Coordinate, schedule, and monitor necessary house repairs with required approval.
- Assist with public relations, fundraising, community awareness projects, and speaking engagements.
- Participate in in-service trainings with other agencies regarding the social, emotional, and economic needs of young women experiencing homelessness, pregnancy, or parenting.
- Attend meetings related to homelessness, crisis pregnancies, and community resources or support opportunities.
- Coordinate, schedule, and oversee community outreach meetings, projects, and trainings.
- Maintain information related to the Community Outreach program and submit required reports.
- Provide support for other staff duties as needed due to vacations, illness, absences, or program needs.
- Submit required monthly reports to leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- College degree in a related field or relevant work experience preferred.
- First Aid, CPR, and MedTech certifications required.
- Experience working with teenagers, single parents, individuals experiencing homelessness, or newborn care preferred.
- General knowledge of household management and family structure.
- Ability to teach and model life skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, reputable character, and ethical standards appropriate for working with vulnerable populations.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to pass Child Abuse/Neglect and Criminal background checks.
- Must pass a medical exam and drug screening.
- Must provide three positive written character references.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current car insurance required.
Job Requirements
- Full-time position.
- Evening and weekend availability may be required for events or home visits.
- Schedule may vary based on program needs.
- May be on call from time to time.
- Must be able to climb stairs, lift at least 50 pounds, and care for infants, toddlers, and residents without assistance.
- Conservative casual clothing is acceptable in the office; professional dress is expected for meetings, community functions, and public representation of Mother’s Refuge.
