Overview
The barista is responsible for ensuring a positive experience for all Sammy’s guests, making excellent coffee drinks and providing unmistakable hospitality. Baristas should have a comprehensive knowledge of Sammy’s breakfast and lunch menu, coffee recipes, back bar equipment, POS, and overall company operations. Baristas should be prepared for high volume drink service and some beer knowledge.
Essential Duties and Requirements
Baristas are expected to provide thorough and anticipatory service to each guest they serve in line. They should be prepared to answer questions about food and beverage menus including but not limited to ingredients, allergies, preparation techniques and basic flavor profiles, as well as assisting in resolving customer issues as they arise.
Baristas should be comfortable multitasking in a high volume environment, they will be required to pull shots, pour beer, and assist with the pastry case while interacting with guests and being on the move. Baristas will need to to work together to ensure quick and efficient drink preparation, maintain an organized environment and ensure guests needs are met.
Baristas are expected to have an overall understanding of POS operations including opening checks, ringing in orders, cashing out guests, and communicating information effectively with the kitchen. They will be responsible for helping maintain a safe and clean environment.
Baristas should possess elevated knowledge of coffee and beer service as well as a competent understanding of all products behind the counter. Recipe compliance is extremely important and ensures that guests recipe a consistent product time after time.

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move up to 60lbs up and down stairs. Exposure to rain and temperatures from 32-100F for prolonged periods, spends between 6-8 hrs at a time on their feet in a fast paced environment.

Pay: $7.25 - $9.25 per hour
